Equipment guide
What to bring on your sailing holiday and what to request with your charter yacht.
What to pack
- Soft bags (no hard suitcases — they won't fit in cabins)
- Non-marking deck shoes or sailing boots
- Waterproof jacket and trousers
- Sun protection: hat, sunscreen, sunglasses with strap
- Swimwear and quick-dry towels
- Seasickness tablets (just in case)
- Head torch for night-time
- Reusable water bottle
Yacht equipment to consider
Air conditioning
Essential for summer charters in hot destinations. Adds €100–300 per week to the charter cost. Usually requires the generator to run.
Generator
Powers air conditioning and other high-draw appliances. Most charter yachts include one, but check before booking.
Inverter
Converts 12V battery power to 220V for charging laptops and other devices. Useful for longer trips.
Watermaker
Produces fresh water from seawater. Very useful for longer charters or when cruising remote areas with limited marina access.
